Facebook Insights offers a wealth of data about your Facebook page. How do you use that information to improve your marketing on Facebook? One way to do this is by scheduling posts for the most effective times.
Scheduling Your Posts for When Your Fans Are Online
The Posts tab on your Facebook Insights has a section called When Your Fans Are Online. This tells you how many of your fans are on Facebook on each day of the week and different times of the day. Use this to time your posts for when most of your fans are active.
To schedule a post, create the post and click on the clock icon on the bottom left of the post editor. Then you can set the year, month, day, hour, and minute you want your post to be published.
Once you’ve clicked on Schedule, your post will disappear from the screen. If you want to look at it again, go to the Admin Panel at the top of your Facebook page, click on Edit Page and then on Use Activity Log.
Hover over the scheduled post and wait for the arrow to appear on the top right. You can then change the scheduled time for your post or delete the post altogether. You can’t edit it, unfortunately, so if you want to make a change you’ll have to delete it and make another.
Why Should You Schedule Posts?
You want your posts published when most of your fans are likely to be online, and scheduling is easier than sitting by looking at the clock. Scheduling is also more efficient: you should be posting on Facebook at least a couple of times a week, so you can set those posts up at one go and not worry about having a post ready at the last minute.
